Help Lenny Heal: Standing By the Rock of Our Family

Hello Everyone!

My name is Amanda Russell (Bergstrom) and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart to ask for some support for my beloved uncle, Lenny Bergstrom.

Many of you know Lenny as the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. He’s the guy who shows up — whether you need help moving a couch, fixing a car, finding perspective, or simply needing someone to talk to.

Lenny has always been the rock others lean on, the one who never says no when someone is in need. His heart is as big as his spirit, and the love he’s given so freely to so many now brings us here, hoping to return some of that kindness to him.

A few months ago, Lenny was diagnosed with cancer. More recently, he suffered a stroke, which has left him with Left-Sided Hemiparesis — meaning he has weakness on the entire left side of his body. While his mind remains sharp, he is currently struggling with speech and communication. He is receiving incredible care at an acute rehabilitation center, where he is undergoing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. The doctors are hopeful, and he’s already making progress every day — a true testament to his strength and resilience.

However, due to these major life changes, Lenny will no longer be able to return to work. We are humbly asking for help — any amount — to assist with his ongoing medical expenses, household bills, and eventual home health care when he transitions back home. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a gesture of love and support that will make a real difference in his recovery and quality of life.

Lenny is able to have visitors, which lifts his spirits tremendously, but due to his therapy schedule, visits do need to be coordinated so that he can continue to focus on healing.
