A Parent's Fight to Stay with Family

After being separated from my family for 12 years, I was finally able to return to the United States and reunite with my children. This has been a dream come true, but the journey has not been easy. I am now working through the immigration process to change my status and file a family petition, which is essential for me to remain with my loved ones.

My health has made this process even more challenging. I have faced serious medical issues, including diabetes and two battles with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Despite these obstacles, I have never stopped fighting because my greatest goal is to be with my family and provide a stable future for my children. I came to the U.S. legally, but recent changes in immigration laws mean I must act quickly to secure my status. I have already started the process with my immigration attorney, but I need help covering the government filing fees for both forms required by the Department of Homeland Security.

I am a hardworking person who cares deeply for others. The thought of returning to Venezuela is frightening, as I would struggle to afford or even find the medicines I need, putting my life at risk.
