I met a young boy named Legacy at the park one day while I was playing basketball. He told me he was being bullied and, despite everything he was going through, he tried to give me a dollar just for being kind to him. That moment broke my heart and made me realize how little kindness he’s experienced in his life. He also gave me a rock, which turned out to be a crystal, and I kept it as a reminder of our conversation. I gave him his dollar back and told him, “Being nice is part of being human, you don’t have to pay people to be nice.”
After our talk, I made a TikTok about Legacy’s story, and it’s reached over 500,000 people who want to see what happens next. Many have encouraged me to mentor Legacy, and I want to do just that. I haven’t seen him again yet, but I bought him two basketballs to give him the next time we meet. I want to show him that he’s loved and supported, not just by me, but by a whole community of people who care.
With your help, I hope to provide Legacy with toys, clothes, school supplies, and opportunities for mentorship. I want to be like a big brother to him and help him see that kindness is real. If you feel moved by his story, please consider joining me in making a difference in Legacy’s life. Your support, no matter the size, will help show him that he matters and that there is so much good in the world!
