Hi, my name is Lea Richard. I am an esthetician, a realtor, and a mother of two. My daily routine has always been centered around working and caring for my family. My second pregnancy had been progressing well, so I never expected my water to break at just 26 weeks—but that is exactly what happened.
I have now been in the hospital for eight days and counting, unable to work, help care for my daughter, or maintain my normal responsibilities. Facing the reality that everything has suddenly come to a halt has made me realize that I need to rely on my village during this difficult time.
My baby boy currently weighs only two pounds, and the doctors are doing everything they can to keep him in the womb a little longer. However, this requires me to remain hospitalized, as continuing the pregnancy after my water has broken is very high-risk, and labor could begin at any moment. Once baby arrives his NICU stay will be anywhere between 12-16 weeks.
As someone who rarely asks for help, this has been incredibly difficult for me. I am truly grateful for everyone who has reached out with love, support, and positive thoughts. Any assistance during this time whether emotional or financial is deeply appreciated as I work to care for my household and navigate this unexpected difficult situation.
Thank you so much,
Lea, Rob, Zari, and Baby Zaiden
