My name is Laurie Batie and my sweet, precious husband, James Anthony Batie, recently died on Dec 29, 2025, from a long battle with lymphoma cancer. I watched this man suffer with cancer for over a year and suffer for six months without swallowing his own saliva, water, or any kind of food. He was totally dependent on a PEG tube, but he never complained. He continued to trust God through his journey. Everybody that met him said he made an impact on their life, just talking about Jesus and the goodness of God. Yes, we believed for a breakthrough healing, but God chose to take him home, and I am so heartbroken and devastated beyond what I ever could’ve imagined.

He was our sole provider. He always worked hard, did extra jobs for plumbing to always make sure we never did without, and then in July, we had a major setback that stopped him from doing any kind of work except for drawing what money he drew. We never believed that we would be in the shape that we’re in right now, and now that he is gone, I am left with an uncertainty of how to even manage life. So I’m reaching out to see about getting help from those who are able to help and bless during this time

I am a full-time RV living; it’s a 2007 model. I still owe $10,000 on it and I pay land rent. I don’t have the funds to even do that, and that’s why I’m doing this GoFundMe to see if there’s any way I can get ahead until I figure out life’s new journey. For those of you who knew my husband Anthony, you knew he was a wonderful man, a giving man, and a man that loved everybody. I thank God for allowing me the 15 years I had with him. I miss him dearly. He’s not even been gone 24 hours, but I know he’s finally taking a drink of water for the first time in months as he looks at the face of Jesus.
