Help Lauren adopt Cash
Let me start this off by saying that I really don’t like to ask for help like this. However, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone because this is something that is so important to our family. My wife, Lauren and I have been married for 5 years. She has been apart of my son, Cash’s life since just before he turned 3 years old. He will be 10 this year. From day one, his father has chosen not to be involved in his life aside from sporadically paying his court ordered child support. Lauren has loved Cash and treated him as her own from the moment she arrived in the picture. She has supported him in every way possible and we couldn’t be luckier to have her. He loves and cherishes her just as much as she does him. He calls us both “mom” and knows no other parents. We’ve thought about this for a long time and have recently decided we would like to go through with a step parent adoption to make Lauren legally Cash’s parent. We’ve talked about it with him and he very much wants this too. After speaking with a lawyer, we found out that we will need about $2500, in part because his dad is pretty difficult to find. I don’t know where he lives or even his phone number. He isn’t on social media and honestly, he’s just good at staying under the radar. So, with all of that in play, we are on the higher end of the cost spectrum. We desperately want to make this happen as soon as we can.
