Help Launch the North Carolina GMRS Network

For years the FCC has provided the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS), a simple set of radio frequencies that require a simple license for a family to use. It’s easy and cheap to get into. It is perfect for family events, group outings and even emergency communications. The most interesting part of this service is the ability to utilize something called repeaters to expand your transmission for miles, usually covering a county or town.

To answer this a few licensed GMRS users wish to start the North Carolina GRMS Network to increase radio coverage for the community. This way more North Carolina citizens can utilize GMRS and easily communicate in the event of an emergency or disaster. When there are no disasters, the system can be used for personal emergencies or even group and family outings for none cellular communications.

The money we are asking for at this time is to get enough to file for our 501(c)3 status and our articles of incorporation with the state of North Carolina.
