I founded CivicOS Institute because too many basic interactions with local government still feel harder than they should.

Permits, public records, housing questions, business licenses, benefits, emergency information, and everyday civic services often run through systems that were never designed for modern life. Residents lose time. Small businesses lose money. Families miss opportunities. Public servants are left trying to do serious work with tools that make everything harder.

CivicOS Institute exists to help change that.

Our mission is to build open, auditable, privacy-first civic infrastructure for the public good. That means research, technical standards, AI literacy resources, and practical tools that help local governments modernize responsibly without handing public life over to black-box vendors.

The first funds raised here will go directly toward state incorporation, IRS 501(c)(3) filing fees, essential legal documents, administrative setup, and the first round of municipal research. From there, we will begin mapping service gaps, gathering community input, and building the foundation for future public-benefit tools.

This is not about chasing shiny technology. It is about making civic systems easier to use, easier to audit, and more accountable to the people they serve.
