I started Tenant Justice MN because I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be for tenants in Minnesota to access safe, stable housing. From friends and family struggling with landlords who ignored safety violations, to individuals facing eviction with nowhere to turn, I realized there was a huge gap in support. I wanted to create a nonprofit that doesn’t just offer temporary fixes, but actually empowers tenants — through advocacy, education, emergency support, and accountability.
Tenant Justice MN is a nonprofit in the making, dedicated to protecting tenants’ rights across Minnesota. Our team shares the same vision: we’ve all experienced or witnessed the challenges tenants face, and we’re committed to building programs that truly make a difference in people’s lives. We provide resources, advocacy, education, and emergency support to ensure all tenants can access safe, fair, and stable housing.
Our Programs include:
- Homelessness Prevention Program: Helps tenants avoid eviction and maintain stable housing.
- Emergency Food Security Program: Provides food assistance to tenants in crisis.
- Landlord Misconduct Reporting & Accountability Program: Allows tenants to report unsafe or illegal landlord behavior.
- Disability Tenant Protection Program: Supports tenants with disabilities, including ESA and ADA compliance.
- Low-Income Crisis Response Program: Rapid assistance for tenants facing emergencies or sudden hardship.
Future Programs (Planned mid-2026): Tenant Education & Workshops, Community Resource Navigation.
Why Your Support Matters
This fundraiser will help us turn that vision into reality. Funds will be used to legally incorporate the nonprofit and complete all filings, cover startup costs such as website development, outreach, and operational systems, launch all of our support programs, and pay initial staff and board members to ensure professional, effective service.
Every donation helps bring Tenant Justice MN to life and ensures Minnesota tenants have access to support and protection.
