Opal Light came from a very real problem: feeling overwhelmed by constant stimulation and realizing how often we reach for our phones instead of something that actually helps us feel calm. I wanted to create something that could replace that habit with something better—something physical, grounding, and beautiful. Inspired by the way opal seems to glow from within, Opal Light is a smooth, handheld stone that responds to touch with soft, flowing light contained entirely inside it. It’s meant to be picked up, held, and experienced—not scrolled past. A small moment of calm in your hand. This project is about creating something that helps people slow down, reset, and reconnect with themselves in a simple, tangible way.

Funds raised will go directly toward building the first working prototype of Opal Light. I am currently in the development stage, focusing on sourcing and testing internal components such as microcontrollers, LEDs, power systems, and touch-responsive elements that bring the device to life. This stage also involves refining the internal layout to fit seamlessly within the custom-designed shell, ensuring both functionality and durability. A significant portion of the funding supports the time and labor required to design, assemble, and iterate on multiple versions until the product performs exactly as intended. Every contribution helps move Opal Light from concept to a fully functional, real-world device.
