The Barbershop Therapy Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that leverages the trusted space of the barbershop to address mental wellness in our communities. Founded by Jimmy Evans, owner of Headquarters Barbershop in Raleigh, NC, and host of the Barbershop Therapy podcast, our mission is to transform barbershops into hubs of healing, support, and empowerment.
The Need:
Our communities are facing a mental health crisis, and access to resources is often limited. Barbershops have long been a cornerstone of connection and conversation, especially in underserved communities. We believe that barbers can play a vital role in promoting mental wellness.
We are raising $25,000 to:
Launch a Haircut Voucher Program: This initiative will provide free haircuts to individuals in need, ensuring they not only receive grooming services but also access to a supportive, judgment-free environment where open conversations can take place.
Train Barbers as Mental Wellness Advocates: We aim to equip barbers with the soft communication tools and training necessary to recognize signs of mental distress, provide initial support, and connect clients to appropriate mental health resources.
How Your Support Helps:
Your contribution will directly fund the voucher program and professional training sessions for barbers. By investing in this initiative, you’re helping create a grassroots network of advocates who can make a lasting impact on mental health in their communities.
Join Us in Transforming Lives:
Together, we can reimagine the barbershop as not just a place for haircuts but as a safe space where healing begins. Every donation helps us take one step closer to creating stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.
Donate today to be part of this movement. Thank you for your support!
