The Columbia Children’s Museum is the realization of a long-held dream, especially for our company President and founder's mother, BillieJean. For years, she envisioned a place in Columbia, Missouri, where children could learn through play, movement, creativity, and exploration. Now, with a passionate team and a supportive community, we are closer than ever to making this dream a reality.

Our mission is to create a space where children learn best—when they are engaged, curious, and exploring alongside others. By bringing together art, science, literacy, and physical activity, we aim to support healthy development, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning for children and families in Columbia and the surrounding communities. We are committed to designing an inclusive environment that welcomes children of all abilities, including those with sensory impairments, while remaining a fun and enriching space for every child to explore and enjoy.

We have already incorporated, established a board of directors comprised entirely of mothers who are authors, early childhood educators, and artists with a multicultural background, and developed a community engagement survey to better understand the needs of local families. Our website is in development, and we have built strong relationships with a legal team and local non-profit leaders to ensure our foundation is solid. The funds raised through this campaign will help us cover the fees required to file for non-profit status and allow us to develop and fabricate proof-of-concept exhibits for future pop-up event fundraisers. These steps are crucial for building momentum and demonstrating the value of the museum to our community.
