Acute Space LLC is a newly formed partnership between multimedia artists and creative collaborators Barry Paul Clark and Pedro Gutierrez that has moved into a commercial property as of August of 2026 on the border of West Allis and Milwaukee, WI

Acute Space will be a curated gallery and performance venue focusing on the value of the in-person creative experience and exchange between artist and patron. Acute aims for this experience to be as equitable in resources as possible to all involved, and remove as many points of dividing resources from the result of an event as we are able. The circuit is closed between those wishing to express with those wishing to experience the expression (artist & audience) when there is the space for it to take place. We want to be that space.

The space will begin with event programming featuring a diverse range of performances, including music, poetry, screenings, and dance, with a concentration on new and experimental work. Our goals for the venue will include hosting creative workshops led by a broad spectrum of working artists. In addition to the main performance space, our intention is to develop a dedicated video art gallery presenting rotating exhibitions. We will be hosting visiting artist residencies, and pop-ups, further establishing opportunities for collaboration and creative community engagement. Outside of scheduled performances and events, our intention for the space is to be open for gallery hours where visitors can enjoy beverage concessions, and browse artwork, publications, and merchandise created by local artists in a relaxing furnished environment .

Our community of supporters is already very strong and wide through the combined 4 decades of creative output and lived career experiences between Pedro and Barry, and the time has come to turn to you in an ask for help in the initial financial hurdle of staying afloat for our first year of operations.

Right now, Acute Space LLC has been funded completely by the personal finances of its co-founders. Fees for business formation, legal compliance, and operational licenses are covered, and move-in funding is secured. The continued resources of operation are the ones Acute Space needs the community's generosity with. Pedro and Barry will not be taking a salary from any funds generated, and the number asked for in the campaign is solely for operation costs, including but not limited to:

We also understand that support does not come strictly through financial means, and this money will turn directly into tangible things, like equipment for live performance, art gallery install equipment, supplies to maintain cleaning and organization, furniture (fold up chairs, tables, lounge furniture). If you or somebody in your community has the ability to donate some of the aforementioned items, please email our contact information to coordinate!

We hope our goal to facilitate this space and mission to be as equitable to artists and patrons as possible is something that inspires you in some way. ANY amount towards this fundraising goal will help keep wind in the sails.

And then the tide can rise, and all the boats along with it.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
