Help Us Launch a Holistic, Recovery-Focused Community Space for all. Let's make connections before the disconnection. These are evidence-based situations that are documented to reduce rates of suicide.
What We’re Creating:
"Connecting Through Rhythm" is a nonprofit in formation based in Oklahoma City, created to provide a safe, inclusive space where people can connect, heal, and grow together—no matter their background.
We use meditation, music therapy, group drumming, breathwork, yoga, visual and performance arts, live music performance and peer connection to support emotional wellness, reduce isolation, and build community.
This space is open to everyone, 24/7. Whether you're simply looking for a peaceful, supportive environment, in recovery, living with anxiety or depression, feeling disconnected, or just wanting to make some social connections.
Our vision is to create a welcoming, substance-free community hub filled with music, meditation, creativity, and meaningful connection. A place where no one feels alone.
Why We’re Fundraising:
We’re raising funds to officially launch the nonprofit, cover filing fees, and begin building toward our first physical location. Your support will help cover:
- IRS & Oklahoma state 501(c)(3) application fees
- Outreach materials, instruments, and healing tools
- Time spent building and coordinating full-time
- Future costs for securing a building (we're actively seeking a donated or $1/year lease space like a vacant church)
While I’ve been volunteering my time to get this project off the ground, managing this mission full-time involves hours and hours of work—preparing the ridiculous amount of documentation needed, developing partnerships, writing grants, organizing events, and laying the foundation for long-term success. Your donation helps keep this momentum going with focus, consistency, and heart.
Why It Matters:
This space is for "everyone", especially those who feel out of place in traditional settings.

After reading this, you will be able to realize how much time and effort has been put into this. And this is only one document. Hours of research, hours of creating documents, hours of doing deep research for media, donors, published research, etc.
Many people don’t feel comfortable in bars, churches, or formal societal groups—but still deeply need connection, belonging, and support. "Connecting Through Rhythm" offers an alternative: a calm, creative, and affirming place where people can participate on their own terms.
By making healing practices accessible and community-based, we help prevent crisis before it happens—reducing suicide risk, lowering relapse rates, and decreasing pressure on emergency services. The result? Healthier people, stronger communities, and long-term savings for public systems.
How You Can Help:
We’re asking for your support—whether that’s through a donation, sharing this page, or helping spread the word.
Even a gift of $10 makes a difference. If you’re able to give more, you’re helping lay the literal foundation for a space that will serve hundreds of people from all walks of life, now, and for generations to come.
Who I Am:
I’m Kyle “Sage” Bailey. I’ve lived with and through addiction, complex trauma, mental health diagnosis and healing—and music is what helped save my life.
Now I work in crisis mental health response and am committed to creating a space where others can find the same peace, purpose, and community that I did. This project is deeply personal and built on lived experience, professional work, and a passion for people.
Let’s build this together. One breath. One beat. One space for healing..
“When isolation is replaced with belonging, and shame is replaced with acceptance, lives can change,” says Bailey. “We believe that together, we can give more people the chance to find hope.”
Ken Stoner, District Judge Oklahoma County Treatment Courts, and potential board member stated, “I’m excited about the potential of BEAT and what it can do for strengthening and expanding our Recovery Community. Creating opportunities to bring people together for uplifting sober fun and shared experiences is critical for those healing from addiction and mental health issues. We are living in an odd time where we are more lonely and disconnected than ever. This is unhealthy and frankly toxic. BEAT can be that center of gravity to pull people together to form genuine connection and community in a positive healthy way”
A prominent city leader who wishes to remain anonymous stated: “It would be transformative for Oklahoma City to have a community space where people can express themselves as a way to combat loneliness, suicidal ideation, and substance use relapse. A space like this isn’t just a powerful tool for healing—it’s also a smart investment. By supporting long-term recovery and social reintegration, we can reduce the strain on emergency services, jails, and treatment centers—ultimately saving taxpayer dollars while improving lives.”
Mae J May BS, MA,MSW candidate and BHCMII, WC, PRSS - COO stated: "Having worked to help folks with mental health conditions and substance use over 35 years, the vision of Beat speaks to my heart. Folks need community and outlets for expression of their experiences. I am excited to see this program grow."
