Help Launch a Creative Café for Vulnerable Communities.

“I’m Samantha Scott, founder of the Mindful Music, Arts & Crafts Café and creator of the Cultured Grannies Series. I’m passionate about building safe, creative spaces where culture, care and community come together to support wellbeing.”
I’m fundraising to launch the Mindful Music, Arts & Crafts Café, a travelling, intergenerational wellbeing space inspired by global cultural proverbs, creativity, and connection.
“Our soft launch is planned for June 6th, and we’re hoping to raise enough by mid-May to secure the venue and cover initial setup costs.”
Please note: GoFundMe may show a suggested donation amount, but you can adjust it to whatever you feel comfortable giving. Every little bit truly helps and is gratefully received.
The Mindful Music, Arts and Crafts Café is a mobile, inclusive initiative that brings people together through creative, therapeutic sessions inspired by global culture, music, and calming visual art.
Unlike traditional cafés, this initiative is designed to support emotional wellbeing for people of all ages, especially older adults, carers, and vulnerable individuals, through mindful activities and shared cultural experiences.
We create peaceful spaces where people reflect, relax, and engage in meaningful conversations sparked by art, music, and the wisdom of global proverbs.
Your donation supports:
• Arts and music-based mindfulness sessions in accessible community venues, including the cost of hiring safe, welcoming spaces for the café to run across different locations
• Free access for elders, carers, and vulnerable individuals
• Creative activity kits from the Mindful Music, Arts & Crafts programme, including books from the Cultured Granny series, filled with culturally rooted proverbs that inspire conversation across generations, alongside relaxing colouring pages designed to soothe the mind, uplifting affirmations (spoken or played) to support emotional wellbeing, wearable art like customisable T-shirts that spark creativity and pride, and group music sessions that teach simple harmonies to lift spirits and help people feel seen, heard, and connected
• Outreach to bring sessions into care homes and community centres across London and beyond
In order to make this happen and keep it running, I also need to step back from my regular work. A small portion of the funds will go toward covering my time and basic costs, so I can fully dedicate myself to running the café, preparing resources, delivering sessions, and expanding the programme without the added pressure of personal financial stress. Your support makes it possible for me to do this properly, with care and consistency.
All of these meaningful offerings take time, care, and funding to create and deliver, which is why your support truly helps make this possible.
This first phase of funding will help us launch and run the café over the next few months. If successful, we hope to expand and continue delivering these sessions throughout the year, with your support helping us grow sustainably.
Whether you can give £3, £30 or simply share this campaign, every bit of support helps and is truly appreciated.
