The Joy Connection is expanding its work in Uganda by launching a small community store that will directly support children in an orphanage and the surrounding village.
For the past three years, The Joy Connection has partnered with Spencer William, a trusted local leader who oversees the daily care of 35 children living in an orphanage in Uganda. Through this partnership, children have had access to food, shelter, medical care, and basic necessities. This fundraiser supports the next step in creating long-term stability for both the children and the community.
Rather than relying solely on short-term aid, The Joy Connection is helping establish a small local store that Spencer will operate. The store will serve the village while also generating sustainable income to help cover the orphanage’s ongoing needs, including rent, food, school support, and medical care. This model empowers local leadership and creates dignity-based support that strengthens the entire community.
Funds raised through this campaign will support:
• Rent for the children’s current shelter
• Food and basic daily needs for 35 children
• Medical and care expenses
• Startup support for the community store that will help sustain the orphanage long term
Our current goal is to raise $2,000 to stabilize immediate needs while laying the groundwork for this sustainable program.
All funds raised through this campaign support The Joy Connection’s Uganda program and are used specifically for program expenses and direct community support. Spencer serves as the on-the-ground program operator, ensuring funds are used responsibly and effectively to benefit the children and village.
Every donation, prayer, and share helps build hope, stability, and opportunity. If you are unable to give, sharing this fundraiser makes a meaningful difference.
Thank you for supporting The Joy Connection and standing with the children and communities we serve.
