My name is LaShaunda, and I’m reaching out for help as my mother Chanda, our senior cat CeCe, and I are facing eviction from the apartment we’ve called home for 30 years. My mother’s health has been declining due to long-term Covid, which leaves her in pain and struggling to breathe every day. She recently underwent knee surgery on October 2, 2025, making it impossible for her to work or move around easily. I am her primary support, but I have no savings left to help us through this crisis.

We are being forced to leave our home sometime next week, and we have nowhere to go. The costs of moving, deposits, and the fees required by landlords are overwhelming. I don’t have enough money to pay for a motel or even get us to a shelter. Our cat CeCe, who is 14 years old and loves her naps and treats, is also at risk of losing her safe space.
