I’m creating this fundraiser for my mom, who has been living in Hawaii for the last 10 years, but is desperately trying to come back home to the mainland, where her family is. After a year filled with loss, financial hardship, and emotional exhaustion, she just needs support to finally make it home.

Over the last year, my mom has suffered multiple family deaths, struggled through grief without a support system nearby, and has been losing sleep and meals because the stress has become overwhelming. Through it all, she’s continued working hard, doing INSTACART every day to stay afloat, but constant car problems have drained what little she had left. Her car is not only her lifeline, but the only way she can work.

Now, she’s at a crossroads: she is ready to finally come home to California to be near family, heal, and rebuild.. but she can’t afford the move on her own.

The cost to ship her car from Hawaii is $1,000, and it will be about $3,000 to ship her belongings. These are things she truly needs in order to restart her life and continue working once she gets here.

My mom is tired. She hasn’t been eating, she hasn’t been sleeping, and she feels like she’s running out of options. As her family, I’m doing everything I can.. but we need help.
