Help Landyn Doss

Donation protected
Landyn Doss and his parents, Katy and Chris, need your help.  Katy gave birth to Landyn on Sunday April 15th.  He was in distress and was having trouble breathing.  He was quickly taken to NICU where tests showed that he was born with heart problems.  He's been taken to Duke Medical Center for heart surgery.

This is a wonderful family and we're trying to do what little we can to help out.  The costs of trips to Durham and being out of work are going to add up.  Unfortunately we can't help with Landyn, but hopefully we can relieve some of the financial burden and a small part of the stress that will come with a trying situation like this.  Please consider donating to help the Doss family.

For more information, here's Katy's post:

This story is not what I had envisioned sharing with my friends and family. Chris and I had waited every day for the past nine months to meet our son, hold him, love him and take him home. And at 3:32 am on April 15th, Landyn Noel Doss made his much-anticipated entrance into our world. We had our “birthing plan” in place, but in the delivery room, events unfolded in a way that we could never have imagined. He was distressed and quickly whisked away to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). In a matter of minutes, our lives were completely turned upside down. We got to meet my beautiful boy and have him taken from us. My heart felt like it was not even beating.

In the NICU, Landyn had trouble breathing and his heart did not sound the way it should. Tests revealed a problem with his heart, so now our beautiful baby boy will be flown to Duke University this week and will have heart surgery shortly after. Our hearts are so heavy as all we want is to comfort and protect him, yet we can’t even hold him at the moment. We need him wrapped and swaddled in earnest prayers as his life is in God’s hands, not our arms.

Landyn is the most beautiful angel I have ever laid eyes on and from the moment I saw his sweet face I knew I got to see just a glimpse of the amount of love my father in heaven has for me. God chose for me to be this little boys mommy and I feel so very blessed. I don’t understand why this is happening but I know that just as much as I love that little boy, I have a father in heaven who loves him in ways I could never comprehend and will be protecting him as we embark on this journey together as a family.

We appreciate all the support and love that we know will be coming our way. We ask that you please keep Landyn in your prayers as we deal with the upcoming weeks ahead. Through all the chaos, we will be trying to keep updates coming through Facebook as we know we have the greatest support system through our friends and family and need all the prayers and love we can get.

Landyn, you’re my greatest accomplishment and I love you more than you could ever imagine. ❤️

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
