Hello! Thank you for coming to our page and reading about Lakyn, our long awaited rainbow baby!!

She is a sweet and sassy little thing that was born full term and healthy in August 2024. She was small at birth (5lbs 4oz) but still passed every test and there was no concerns. In October 2024, she developed her first case of Rhinovirus which complete wiped her out. She was admitted to The University of Michigan Children’s Hospital 3 times since October 17th along with multiple ER visits, many specialist doctor appointments, and a lot of unknowns. She has had rhinovirus multiple times, human metapneumovirus, pneumonia, COVID-19, RSV, sapovirus, and astrovirus. Along with the viruses, she is NG fed and has failed her swallow study, preventing her from drinking formula unless its thickened. She was supposed to have a G-Tube placement done yesterday (3/6/25), but due to having 4 viruses, it is now rescheduled for April 2025.

I (mom) currently have zero days left for paid time off. I had to take a longer maternity leave due to her medical needs. It is hard asking for help, but communities gather in times of need. If you feel inclined to help out with medical bills, bills, food, etc, we greatly appreciate it.

We can use all the prayers you have as well! Prayers for quick healing, answers, and also for our son Donny who is the best big brother. During this whole time he has yet complained about anything related to us missing his sport or school events to be in the hospital with Lakyn.
