Help Lakota Elders and Children Survive Winter

Donation protected
Due to drastic and sudden cuts of federal support, many elders and children on Pine Ridge face the long winter months- brutal subzero conditions of up to 30 degrees below zero- with no access to heating sources. These homes already and all too often have significant damage, with little to no insulation and pipes that freeze. Such conditions are devastating and ultimately life-threatening, especially without external support. As the tribe no longer has federal support for this critical need, we are asking for yours. Some of these Lakota elders are on global stages, asked and tasked with sharing wisdom critical for our collective survival.

At this time of giving thanks, we ask for donations to provide life-saving heat in these harsh winter months to our relatives, the Lakota tribe, who inhabit one of the US’s harshest climates. Your every dollar will be tripled by pledged matching grants from Running Strong for Native American Youth and The Fountain. This support will provide all heating needs for 25 homes through March. Any support, big or small, goes a long way and is deeply appreciated.

Please share this with your friends and family, and stand in solidarity with our relatives by letting them feel the warmth of your care.
