Help Lacey, Roger, and Lucy on Their Kidney Journey.
Donation protected
My sister-in-law, Lacey's life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with sudden kidney failure over a year ago. Since then, she has bravely endured the challenges of home dialysis, a grueling process that has tested her strength and resilience daily and that she has endured with such grace. Despite the hardships, she has remained determined to fight for her health and her family, including her loving husband, Roger, and their precious 10-year-old daughter, Lucy.
In a miraculous turn of events, Roger has been cleared as a kidney donor with a paired kidney exchange program. This means that in mid-November he will have kidney donation surgery, and his kidney will be flown to Denver right away to an awaiting person and be exchanged for the kidney matched with Lacey. Then, Lacey will have surgery the same day to receive that kidney from Denver! This incredible act of love means they will both undergo surgery on the same day - one to give the gift of life, and the other to receive it. While this news brings immense joy and hope, it also presents significant financial challenges for their family. Both will require extensive recovery time and a caregiver for the first two weeks post-surgery, adding to their mounting expenses.
Your donation will make a world of difference as they navigate this critical time. Funds raised will help cover essential needs such as food, gas for medical appointments, and outstanding debts that have accumulated during this difficult period. Additionally, with the holiday season approaching, your generosity could help ensure their daughter still experiences the magic of Christmas despite her parents' medical struggles. Every contribution, no matter the size, will ease their financial burden and allow them to focus on what matters most - healing and reuniting as a family.
