Support for Lacey Nicholls & Family

Donation protected

Lacey is 11 turning 12 this October & almost 11 weeks ago, our family’s life got turned upside down.

What we thought was just a normal day, quickly turned into any parents worst nightmare. Lacey was a healthy young girl and this was a complete shock to us all and not something we could have known about. She started experiencing a severe headache in the early evening which later resulted into life threatening seizures. After scans it was discovered that Lacey has a condition called AVM which had ruptured and caused a bleed on her brain. Lacey was then Air lifted to the Children’s hospital in Brisbane and kept in ICU for what felt like weeks. We were then told she has the biggest and most severe AVM they had seen and was extremely lucky to still be alive. Because of how significant the AVM was some surgeons were very hesitant to even do the surgery that she needed - and we were told not to have expectations.

Lacey is a shy, smart, kind and such a beautiful caring girl who is a daughter, a sister, an Aunty and a best friend - she hasn’t even begun her life yet and it won’t ever be the same again... It breaks all of our hearts into a million pieces to watch this happen to someone so close to us.

So far Lacey has been through 6 seperate surgeries with still many more to come. With us being told she may never be able to move the left side of her body again, and will have to be very careful and might not ever be able to do certain activities she once dreamed of doing. This has been a tough time for not only Lacey but her entire family.

Thankfully Nikki & Dave have been put up in the Ronald McDonald House in Brisbane so they can be by Laceys side through all of this.

However with current situations they have both had to stop working to do this.

Any small donation would go towards helping the family ease financial concerns with ongoing medical/hospital expenses, help with Lacey’s continued recovery & to help pay for her parents necessary bills whilst they aren’t working.

It will be a challenging and long journey ahead, however Lacey is so brave and is determined to walk again and make it out of all of this.

Every little bit counts and is very much appreciated. Even if you can’t donate, a card, some kind words and your prayers would mean the absolute world to all of us.

The Family would like to thank everyone for their support.

Love to all of you
