Kyrie was a passenger in a serious car accident caused by reckless driving. In an instant, Kyrie’s life changed completely.

As a result of the crash; she suffered two fractures to her spine a shattered L1, and fractured L5 as well as three broken ribs, a concussion, and a contusion to her intestines. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, then life-flighted by medical airplane to Denver for specialized care at Auroras Children Hospital.

She underwent major spinal surgery to stabilize her spine, which involved two rods and ten screws. She spent 2 nights and 3 days in the ICU . After the ICU we have been in the hospital for 9 days and counting… this will be followed by a minimum of six weeks of physical therapy, with continued care likely beyond that.

The medical costs are overwhelming and ongoing. Between emergency transport, life flight, intensive care, surgery, hospitalization, and rehabilitation, expenses are expected to exceed two hundred thousand dollars.
