Help Kyle Burgess Build or Buy a Disability-Friendly Home
Donation protected
I’m Kyle Burgess, a medically retired Navy Veteran living with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS), an incurable neurological disease. Despite the VA’s promises of support, I’ve faced significant challenges in accessing the necessary care and benefits.
For six years, I went undiagnosed and untreated due to systemic failures within the VA. This negligence has had a profound impact on my quality of life. I struggle daily with memory loss, physical disabilities, and the emotional toll of a chronic illness.
My family, too, has been affected. My wife is forced to work full-time to support us, and our 18-month-old son spends his days in daycare. I yearn to be the father and husband I want to be and take care of my child at home, but my disabilities prevent me from providing the care and support they deserve.
To improve our quality of life, we need to build or buy a disability-friendly ranch-style home. Our current home is bi-level, limiting my mobility and independence.
I’ve exhausted all avenues to seek justice and receive the benefits I’m entitled to. I’ve consulted with lawyers, filed numerous claims with the VA, and advocated with patient advocates. Unfortunately, the VA has repeatedly denied my claims, citing vague reasons or outright dismissing my needs.
I’ve even applied for the VA’s housing grant, but was denied due to a limited number of available grants and a long waiting list.
I’m reaching out to you today in the hope that you can help. Your generous donation will go towards building or buying a home that will allow my family and I to live with dignity and independence.
