Help Krystal Star Bolin, Patriot & Prayer Warrior
I met Krystal this summer while on a local mission trip through our church. We crossed paths at a hardware store in Dickenson, TX while I was purchasing supplies for the project/home my team of middle schoolers and I were working on. The Youth Group van was parked out front, and Krystal noticed the “Student Disaster Recovery” sign on the side of the van. She inquired about our services, and the conversation took on a life of its own from there. There wasn’t much we could do in that moment, but I promised her I would personally follow up, and we’ve been in touch ever since. I can only describe the chance timing, location and circumstances of our meeting as “a God thing”.
I’ve spent the past few months getting to know Krystal and learning about her immediate needs. Among them, her roof currently leaks in five different places when it rains. She also battles multiple health issues including osteoporosis. She’ll be receiving a wheelchair sometime in the next few months, so she’ll also need a wheelchair ramp built. Krystal lives on a very limited and fixed income, so these needs are beyond her reach financially.
Through my conversations with Krystal and her friend & landlord of 15 years, I have learned that Krystal is a kind soul, a true patriot and a dedicated prayer warrior who desperately needs help. I’ve also learned that she wrote and recorded this beautiful tribute (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A56cRD-Tccc) to our U.S. military forces titled, “Thank You from America” (music starts after 13 second intro). She also used to volunteer as a singer at local Memorial Day events and at the VFW Post in Galveston.
All this being said, the thing that has compelled me most to action is her unwavering faith in God, her dedication to praying for others, her patient faith in His timing (not hers), and how thankful she’ll tell you she is to simply have a roof over her head…leaking or otherwise.
I’ve had other similar chance encounters throughout my life, but I haven’t always “acted”…and certainly never to this degree. Thank you SO MUCH for simply SHARING THIS PAGE and/or for any donation you’re able to share to help this sweet lady, as 100% of all donations will go to the repairs of her home.
