She’s currently hospitalized after doctors discovered that both of her lungs have collapsed due to large pleural effusions—dangerous fluid buildup in each lung. The medical team is working tirelessly to stabilize her and determine the cause. She’s awaiting a thoracentesis and may be facing a longer hospital stay while they run tests and decide on the best course of treatment.

Just a short time ago, Krystal was caring full-time for her mother, who sadly passed away earlier this year. After her loss, she was slowly getting back on her feet—starting a new job as a paralegal, a field she truly loves. But having only recently returned to work, she doesn’t yet have any paid time off or sick leave, and her income has already been stretched to the limit trying to keep up with bills and provide for her 8-year-old son, Myles Turner, who means the world to her.
