Hello, I am fundraising for my sister-in-law Kristen and nephews Tim and Ethan.
Today started out like any other day for their family, but quickly turned into tragedy around 1 PM when she began receiving calls and messages that one of their barns was on fire.
My nephews show pigs for 4-H, and this was only their second year. They had just picked up their baby pigs last week and were so excited for the season ahead.
Tragically, the pigs did not survive the fire, and half of the barn, if not more, has been destroyed and will need to be rebuilt. It appears that one of the pigs may have accidentally pulled down a heat lamp, which led to the fire.
In the midst of this loss, we are thankful that Taquito the mini donkey and their two goats survived the fire.
My sister-in-law, Kristen, is the kind of person who is always there for others—she would truly give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She is also someone who would never ask for help herself, which is why I wanted to step in and support her during this incredibly difficult time.
Unfortunately, there is no insurance coverage to help with the loss of the barn. This fundraiser is to help rebuild what was lost and, if possible, give my nephews the chance to purchase new pigs and continue doing something they love. They are absolutely heartbroken.
We are so thankful to the fire department for responding quickly and getting the fire under control.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to this family. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser.
Thank you so much for your support, prayers, and kindness. God bless.
