My name is Kristen, and I’m a single mom doing my best to care for my son while facing some serious health challenges. I’m disabled and need both of my knees replaced, I have sciatica, bulging disks in my back, and my rotator cuff needs surgery as well. I was working until I had a seizure while driving, which led to an accident that made all my previous injuries even worse. Now, I’m unable to drive, and the pain and limitations have made it impossible for me to work or provide for my family the way I want to.
I’m currently on my fifth attempt to get disability, but the process is moving painfully slow. To make things even harder, my ex stopped paying child support, and I’m struggling to keep up with our bills. Every day is a challenge as I try to make sure my son has what he needs, from food and clothes to a safe place to live. The stress of not knowing how I’ll cover our basic needs is overwhelming, and it’s taking a toll on my mental health.
The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward paying our bills, putting food on the table, buying clothes for my son, and making sure I can get rides to my many doctor’s appointments. Thank you for listening to part of my story. All of my medical issues are affecting my mental health, and worrying about my son and our bills makes it even harder to find hope. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing my story—means the world to us. I’m grateful for any help, and I hope with your kindness, we’ll see the light at the end of this tunnel soon.
