Our son Koltin followed his dream and moved to Juneau, Alaska, in October 2025. He had worked and saved money for this move for a number of years.

With the help of his friends there he found an RV, which he bought and moved in to, and was working on starting a mobile car detailing business to support himself.

On the night of April 3 he was woken up by a fire alarm. The RV was filled with smoke, so he took his phone and ran outside.

The fire department arrive quickly, and was able to extinguish the flames, but everything he owned was lost.

We are so thankful he is unharmed. That's the most important thing of all.

Sadly, Koltin has no home. Through much generosity from his friends he had a bed to sleep in that night, and was gifted clothing items. He would love to stay in Juneau, but the only way to do so is by replacing or rebuilding his little home.

This has been an incredibly difficult time. Koltin is in shock, of course, and knows it will take some time to recover emotionally.
