Feeding Louisiana Together: Helping Families Impacted by the SNAP Benefit Disruption

KOK Wings and Things, a Louisiana-based restaurant group proudly serving the communities of Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and New Iberia.

KOK Wings and Things has always believed in more than food — we believe in community, culture, and care. When we learned how families and college students were being impacted by the federal government shutdown and SNAP benefit disruption, we knew we had to act.

With the help of Aetna Better Health of Louisiana and Doran & Cawthorne Law Firm, we have already committed to providing 3,000 free meals to college students and families with children 12 and under who show proof of SNAP benefits. These meals are being served every Sunday throughout November across all three KOK Wings and Things locations.

Our goal is to raise funds to increase that number from 3,000 to 10,000 meals — allowing us to reach even more Louisiana families who are struggling during this difficult time.

How the Funds Will Be Used

Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

• Purchasing food and packaging supplies for meal preparation

• Covering logistics and delivery for community meal distribution

• Supporting local staff and volunteers helping operate this initiative

100% of donations will be used to feed families and college students in need.
