My husband Kirk Sawall, is known for his sunny disposition, and willingness to help those in need. He's a BIG man with a BIG heart!
He just received a call asking if he would come to Puerto Rico and volunteer his time and skills there.
Although Puerto Rico is no longer headline news, a widely read newspaper had this to say a couple of days ago: "more than five months after Hurricane Maria plowed through Puerto Rico, some parts of the island are still in the dark.....Hundreds of thousands remain without power."
Of course, that is just one of the many serious issues facing the people living there today. Just imagine what life must be like with no power for five months! Some of the larger cities have made good progress in rebuilding but much of the population still are without the basics and trying to live in damaged homes.
Kirk's skill set includes carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and more...
So, let's chip in and help him get to Puerto Rico, so he can assist people who are truly in need! He will be helping people with little means rebuild their homes.
He plans to go in April and will be spending four weeks there. Your donation will help in getting a round trip plane ticket, the cost of sending carpentry and electrical tools, transportation during the stay, and food.
Since he won't be able to earn income while he's gone, your donation will also be assisting with basic expenses such as utilities and mortgage back home. We wil be applying our savings to this need too!
Any funds left over will be donated.
We are grateful to have wonderful supporters like you and thank you for your generosity! If you are unable to give financially, please share this campaign to help get the word out.
