Help Kira Move

Hi Everyone, My friend Kira is a really difficult situation and I'm trying to figure out a way to help her.  She is a very sweet single mom of an adorable newly 2 year old toddler named Smith (who also happens to be a friend of my toddler.)

She was suddenly laid off from her Graphic Design job a few months ago, after the firm she was working for lost their biggest client and went through some internal restructuring.  This layoff also happened after a very difficult and expensive divorce.

After the divorce, Kira stayed in the place she was living with her ex. This was both because of the extremely high Bay Area rental prices and the desire to keep stability for her little one.  Affording the place on her own has been not been easy, but she is a survivor and has been doing it on her own.

Yesterday Kira got more bad news. Her landlords  are going to sell the house that she is renting and has been living in for the past six years. They gave her only 30 days notice to vacate.

Not only does Kira have her herself and her child to care for, but she also has two small dogs and a cat. Finding a pet-friendly place is even more challenging, and living without her fur-kids is not an option.

Bay area prices are extremely high with tiny 2 bedroom apartments starting around $2800 a month (if you are really lucky).  She will likely have to downsize into a 1-br apartment (around $2500, the same price as the house she lives in), which she is prepared to do if necessary.
Renting is super competitive with multiple applicants applying for the same unit. Often open houses for rentals result in bidding wars of who will offer the landlord more.

In order to move into a new place, most landlords require first months rent, that your income is 3 times the monthly rent, and that you give a deposit that is equivalent to 1.5 months of rent.  Then there is moving cost on top of that.

After searching for a place in the Bay Area when I divorced, I understand just how desperate and scary this can feel.

I know that I can't help her raise all of those funds, but I'd like to at the very least help her come up with part of her deposit. If you have any extra funds to help my friend and her little boy, please donate. It would be greatly appreciated.
