Kinan Mousa Al-Tawil is just a child. He held no weapon, knew nothing of war—yet he was struck by it with full force.

In an instant, while in a place that was supposed to be safe, the bombing hit. Shrapnel flew. Screams filled the air. And then came the silence, broken only by Kinan’s wounded, fragile cry.

Kenan Mousa Al-Tawil was severely injured on 19/07/2024. Part of his small intestine, spleen, and liver were removed, one of his fingers was amputated, he suffered a rupture in the right coronary artery and the left femoral artery, and he has shrapnel in different parts of his body including the pelvis, back, and hand. When he arrived at the hospital, his blood level was 3. He was admitted to the intensive care unit and is suffering from psychological trauma and disorders. He cannot sleep well, wakes up several times, and screams because of the painful incident. He is unable to walk and needs several surgical operations on both legs, in addition to continuous medical follow-up.

His sister, the martyr Taleen Mousa Al-Tawil, was killed in the same incident at the age of 10. He is still suffering from severe psychological trauma, and their house was completely destroyed.

In the image, Kinan appears to be sleeping. But the truth is, he is fighting. Fighting pain that his young mind cannot even understand. His chest shows the marks of shrapnel. His eyes remain shut. Is he sleeping—or slipping away?

There is no proper medical care. Supplies are lacking. The intensive care unit is incomplete.

All that remains is resistance. The resistance of a small, broken body against a brutal occupation—and an unbreakable siege.

Kinan asks for nothing. He doesn’t speak.

But every part of him screams:

“I’m just a child why must I suffer like this?

كنان موسى الطويل مجرد طفل. لم يحمل سلاحًا، ولم يعرف شيئًا عن الحرب ومع ذلك أصابته بكل قسوتها.

في لحظة، وبينما كان في مكان يُفترض أنه آمن، ضرب القصف. تطايرت الشظايا. ملأت الصرخات الأجواء. ثم عمّ الصمت، لم يقطعه سوى بكاء كنان الجريح والضعيف.

أُصيب كنان موسى الطويل بجروح بالغة بتاريخ 19/07/2024.

تم استئصال جزء من أمعائه الدقيقة، والطحال، وجزء من الكبد. وبُتر أحد أصابعه، وتعرض لقطع في الشريان التاجي الأيمن والشريان الفخذي الأيسر، وتنتشر الشظايا في أنحاء جسده، بما في ذلك الحوض والظهر واليد. وعندما وصل إلى المستشفى كان دمه 3 فقط. أُدخل إلى العناية المركزة وهو يعاني من صدمة واضطرابات نفسية. لا يستطيع النوم جيدًا، ويستيقظ مرات عدة وهو يصرخ من هول ما جرى. كما أنه غير قادر على المشي ويحتاج لعدة عمليات جراحية في كلتا ساقيه، بالإضافة إلى متابعة طبية مستمرة.

شقيقته، الشهيدة تالين موسى الطويل، استشهدت في نفس الحادث وهي في العاشرة من عمرها.

ما زال كنان يعاني من صدمة نفسية شديدة، كما أن منزلهم قد دُمّر بالكامل.

في الصورة، يبدو كنان نائمًا. لكن الحقيقة أنه يقاوم. يقاوم ألمًا لا يستطيع عقله الصغير حتى أن يستوعبه. على صدره آثار الشظايا. عيناه مغمضتان. فهل هو نائم—أم ينسلّ من بين أيدينا؟

لا يوجد علاج طبي مناسب. المستلزمات مفقودة. وحدة العناية المركزة غير مكتملة.

لم يتبقَّ سوى المقاومة. مقاومة جسد صغير مكسور في مواجهة احتلال وحشي—وحصار لا ينكسر.

كنان لا يطلب شيئًا. لا يتكلم.

لكن كل جزء فيه يصرخ:

"أنا مجرد طفل… لماذا يجب أن أعاني هكذا؟
