Help Kim Stay Strong for Her Kids

My name is Ashley, and I am writing this fundraiser for a dear friend of mine, Kim. I’ve known Kim for over 5 years now, and our daughters have become incredibly close and are little soul sisters. Kim is a recently separated Mom of two amazing elementary school students. During the course of her separation she moved into an apartment and then became diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and now is in a battle for her life and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Her treatment plan includes chemotherapy, surgery, and she has a long road ahead of her to try and be there for her two children during this time.

Kim has always had the title of “Fun Mom” and “Super Mom” in my book. She shows up for her kids in the best ways possible - from bringing them lunches at school, to cheer competitions and functions, baseball and basketball practices/games, tutoring, martial arts and then she asks if she can do anything for me and my family. I’ve always strived to be like her on so many levels. Full of fun, full of life and energy, uplifting, and full of humor no matter what circumstances she’s going through. She always puts her kids and her friends before herself.

The last few weeks have been incredibly hard on Kim as she ramps up with weekly chemo treatments and continues to show up daily for her kids. She hasn’t let this slow her down, despite feeling sick, and losing her hair. I want Kim to know she has a local community of friends, families, and those who don’t even know her that give her support during her journey.

Battling breast cancer, going through a separation, and trying to be there for her children I don’t want her to have to worry about paying for her prescriptions, buying groceries, paying for gas, her bills, and I want her to be able to enjoy time with her children this summer because the future is never promised.
