Hi All, Kim Wilbanks here.
Back in november I spent a week at Rideout Hospital (local) because my Dr thought I’d had a stroke….my speech was changing. After a CTScan and blood work it was determined that I had not. So began a week long barrage of MRIs, ultrasounds and more blood work. They found nothing. All vitals good, all tests negative. They then recommended that I see a Neurologist…easier said than done.
From November to April 1st I’d lost 27 lbs, a total of 65 since last May when small symptoms first appeared.
Morning of April 1st we went to see my primary doctor and she said I needed to go to UCDavis ER right then.
After spending a week at UCDavis it has been found that I have ALS; a progressive muscular disease.
We are living in a very small house in NorCal, Tony and I, along with Kale and Klaudia. We outgrew this house at least 2 years ago; no storage and had been going thru ‘stuff’…..as we also had plans to be involved in missions once again.
Now the urgent need is for a bigger space, as I have fallen 3 times. We are now moving back to SoCal where we can all be together during this time and the boys will help us out.
Obviously this medical shock is not something we saw coming, and though we had some savings, the majority has been needed for medical expenses, not covered by insurance.
If you are able to help us with this move we would greatly appreciate it.
We certainly ask for your prayers as we adjust to this new reality.
Blessings and warm wishes!
Kim, Tony & Family
