My name is Reyna and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my sister Kimberly Silva and her fiancé, Michael Guizar. Life has been throwing some heavy and unexpected challenges at them lately. As her older sister, I want to do everything I can to help them out. They’ve worked so hard to get their own little cottage — such a huge milestone. With the timing of his health issues, they just haven’t been able to afford even the basics like furniture or household necessities.

My sister just graduated from UCSB and is working tirelessly toward her career, while her fiancé has been battling these recent health issues that have made it tough to keep up with bills and everyday expenses. They dream of getting married in the future, but right now that feels out of reach with all they’re juggling.

What amazes me is that, despite all of this, they stay hopeful and determined. They are doing their best, but sometimes even the strongest people need a little help. I want to help them furnish their home, cover some essentials, and take a little weight off their shoulders so they can focus on their health, careers, and building the life they deserve, together.
