Help Kids get water in Zimbabwe

Hi I’m Axel. I’m 11 and I desperately want to help this amazing little school in rural Zimbabwe - Musukwi Primary - raise the $5,000 they need to have a bore hole drilled and a hand pump installed so they can get daily access to clean and safe running water - and now I'm raising another $5,000 for one of Tererai's other 12 schools, Kanyati Primary School, which also doesn't ahve water.

It’s my dream to find a way to make that happen so the beautiful kids there have something I’ve always taken for granted - access to clean and safe running water when they’re at school.

Can you imaging what a barrier it is not to have that?

I recently had the privilege of visiting Musikwi Primary with my Mum and Dad. Via their business kikki.K they’re supporting Dr Tererai Trent who supports 12 schools like this one in one of the poorest parts of rural Zimbabwe

Despite how little they have, the kids and teachers seemed so happy!

Me and my Dad took them some cricket bats and balls. They’d never played cricket before and it was so much fun to show them! They picked it up so fast!

But after getting really hot and dusty playing cricket I realised how much it must hold them back to not have access to clean water to wash or drink.

Having running water at this amazing school will make it much more attractive to girls and will help them see education as a real alternative to early marriage - and it will help other people nearby in the community too.

At the moment the hundreds of students and teachers get thru the day with water carried by bucket from a kilometre away.

The money will be given to the Tererai Trent International Fund who we know and trust to implement the project at low cost.

So, please consider going without a coffee or two this week - or putting your pocket money or a day of your pay towards this really worthy cause and let’s build them a well - and help them with their education.

I’m putting 5 weeks of my pocket money in - that’s $50.

If we can do it together, I’ll make sure I update you with photos and stories of the positive impact you’ve been part of creating for the hundreds of kids I met and the thousands who will follow them.

I promised the headmaster Phainos Mutambasere that I’d do my best to help them with this.

Thanks for supporting making this dream happen for the betterment of so many kids - who really deserve an opportunity to get an education so they can help lift themselves and their families and communities out of poverty.
