It’s heartbreaking to be writing this, but our family is facing yet another devastating turn. In 2022, we asked for your help as we navigated an unthinkable journey, and since then, we’ve experienced both wins and heartbreak.
Khi fought and beat cancer for the second time, celebrating by ringing the bell. But less than six months later, our mom was diagnosed with stage IV triple-negative breast cancer. She has fighting with everything she has—pushing through chemotherapy, undergoing a double mastectomy, and now enduring the difficult effects of radiation.
Then, just a couple months after her surgery, we received the news we feared most—Khi’s tumor had returned. Despite undergoing 3 long months of chemotherapy, his doctors have now told us there is nothing more they can do and that soon their recommendation will be to place him on hospice care. Our focus has shifted to keeping him comfortable and cherishing the time we have left with him. We have learned about a experimental medicine called escozine that may be able to help but it is expensive and not covered by any insurance.
Through all of this, our mom has done everything she can to keep the bills paid with Social Security and disability benefits, but those benefits have now run out. She is still not well enough to return to work yet, and the financial strain is becoming overwhelming.
We are humbly asking for your support—not only to help our mom stay afloat but also to ensure Khi receives the care he needs in what we are praying are not his final days and to prepare for the looming costs ahead. Any donation, no matter the size, will help ease the burden during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this post would mean so much to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and love. We are forever grateful.
