My name is Aneeq Ahmed, and I live in Canada. Recently, I had the privilege of meeting Khairiya Naeem Ahmed Khalil, a brilliant young engineer from Deir al-Balah, Gaza. Behind her strength and resilience lies a heartbreaking story — one of perseverance, hope, and the daily struggle for survival.

Khairiya comes from a family of 12. They relied on a small shop as their only source of income, but it was completely destroyed due to the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The loss of the shop has left them financially devastated, and they are now struggling with mounting debts.

Khairiya has become the sole hope for her family — working tirelessly to provide food and medical care for them, especially for her sick mother. However, even her work has become nearly impossible due to frequent power outages, making it difficult for her to work remotely or connect with her clients.
