On January 31, 2021, we unexpectedly lost Brin during childbirth. Brin and Kevin were bringing their first child into the world. Baby girl is home and doing okay, but Kevin will need on-going support. We, Brin’s group of friends, are organizing this fundraiser to raise money for Kevin and baby girl.

Brin and Kevin were planning on cloth diapering and breastfeeding, so we hope to help Kevin pay for 2 years of diapers and 2 years of formula and food. We would also like to fundraise additional money for unforeseen medical expenses or other expenses with baby girl that may come up. We are setting an ambitious goal of $10,000 and Kevin is the direct beneficiary of all funds raised here. If you are able to give anything, we would be so appreciative.

“On Sunday morning at 12:52 a.m., Brin gave birth to our daughter.

The delivery was an emergency C-section, after Brin had an amniotic fluid embolism and went into cardiac arrest. Though the doctors and nurses tried to stabilize her, she died at 5:43 a.m.

The baby girl she made was 8lbs 12 oz, 20.28 inches, and beautiful. Today, I brought her home from the hospital to the apartment that Brin had prepared for her.

We named her Brin Elise Kessinger Gibbons, in honor of the mother who poured her love and life into and out for her child.

I am so proud of both of our Brins.”
