Greetings, Everyone my name is Kevin Ball living in Chester Springs PA
Mexico Beach, Florida, is my happy place
Since retiring in 2021, this incredible coastal town has been my winter destination and second home. The community at El Governor RV Park and Hotel has welcomed me and so many others with kindness, friendship, and open arms year after year.
On Monday, October 27, 2025, disaster struck.
Two tornadoes ripped through Mexico Beach, with the strongest an EF-1 directly hitting the El Governor Beach Resort & RV Park.
The hotel lost its roof, and the wind turned parked RVs and vehicles into twisted wreckage. Residents and snowbird friends saw their homes destroyed again, just seven years after Hurricane Michael’s Category 5 landfall in 2018, a disaster from which the community is still rebuilding.
My dear friends, Brenda and Vicky, who live in their RVs full-time, lost everything in moments
Their fifth wheel, SUV, car and belongings totaled. This is like having your home burn to the ground, with no safety net and the insurance companies are screwing them! The manager, Tangie, someone whose warmth and generosity make this place so special, her RV narrowly spared by the grace of God.
We are asking for YOUR help to get these amazing people in Mexico Beach Florida, back on their feet
Tangie Horton, her husband Jimmy, along with Vicky and Brenda, and all the Mexico Beach families recover. It will take months or years, but immediate shelter, repairs, food, and daily necessities cannot wait.
How Your Donation Helps
Provides temporary housing for Brenda Byer, Vicky Johnson, and other displaced residents.
Replaces destroyed RVs and essential belongings.
Supports local families and staff affected by loss of work and property.
Contributes to the rebuilding of El Governor RV Park, so our community can gather again.
Why It Matters
Mexico Beach is a small, tight-knit town that never fully recovered from Hurricane Michael.
The October tornadoes struck without warnings.
Your kindness is the only source of emergency relief for friends who lost everything and have nowhere else to go.
I plan to be back in Mexico Beach at the start of December 2025,
I hope to reunite with friends and see the spirit of this beautiful community shine once again. If you’ve ever known the pain of sudden loss or the fear of starting over, then you know how vital community support can be. Every donation will make a direct impact. Please share this page, and help give these resilient people hope.
