"Help Kernos change lives"
We need your help
Small charities may not have the biggest platforms or budgets, but what they do have is heart, dedication, and a deep understanding of the people they serve. But the reality is this: small charities are under pressure like never before.
With the cost of living crisis, rising demand for services, and a competitive funding environment, it’s becoming harder and harder to keep going — even when the need has never been greater.
That’s why I’m asking for your support today. Three years ago, I became a Trustee for the Kernos Centre. The charity provides professional counselling and mental health support to people across our community (Babergh) regardless of their resources. If they can’t afford to make a contribution to the counselling, they will not be turned away. For many, it’s the only place they can turn. There is compassion. There is hope. But we can’t do it alone.
As a small charity, Kernos receives no NHS or government funding. Every session, every counsellor, every life changed — it’s all made possible by donations, grants, and community support. Our future is more uncertain than it has ever been. That’s the cold hard truth in today’s world.
Every year I do something to raise money for Kernos around Mental Health Awareness Week in October. This year I am delighted to be joined by Jade Ashdown for a skydive and then we do a 50k. We will do more but it’s a start. If you are in a position to support please do. If you would like to know more about what we do please reach out to me.
Your support means we can keep the doors open. It means we can say “yes” to someone who is struggling. It means we can continue to be there when it matters most.
Thank you for standing with small charities. And thank you for standing with The Kernos Centre.
