Help Kendrick Keep His Dream Alive

Kendrick - Animal Liberator, Anti-Oppression Activist, Photographer, Creative Intellectual, and Founder of social illz.

While attending the Animal Liberation Conference in Oakland, CA, two people busted out some windows in our vehicle while we were getting our online order at the pickup counter. Unfortunately, three backpacks were stolen. Kendrick had everything in his backpack: his new camera I gifted him last Christmas, his camera lenses, and his laptop.

If you know Kendrick, you know he is a dedicated Anti- Oppression, Anti-Racism, Anti-Speciesism Activist. His love for photography blossomed when he started attending Animal Liberation actions. He has upgraded to multiple cameras and lenses that help him get better shots. Losing his latest camera is a huge blow. It has great video capabilities as well as still photos.

Kendrick’s camera has taken him around the country to bear witness to actions for animals. Last year, it took us from Portland to D.C. to document the rising of the people against police brutality and racist policies that have created a racist society.

Kendrick has participated in so many social justice causes and documented all of it for his love of sharing stories visually. The importance of documenting these unprecedented times is extremely valuable to Kendrick, prompting him to enroll in college to obtain a degree in Photography to learn all of the skills a masterful photographer needs. Taking the courses for a dual degree in Photography and Videography was going to be easier with the camera that was stolen.

Kendrick’s second passion is clothing design. He left the casino business after 15 years as a table games dealer and supervisor to follow his love of marketing and creative content. The last two years have been spent pouring all of his time and energy into getting his streetwear line for animal liberation off the ground and rebranding from qltykntrl to social illz. His laptop contained all of his original files for his streetwear designs loved by so many activists from around the globe.

Kendrick has held multiple fundraisers for various organizations with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the groups ranging from bailout projects to a local Vegas animal sanctuary. He is too humble to ask for any assistance, but this is a reminder to him of the unity in community.

This GoFundMe will be used by Kendrick to keep moving forward with his small business, his education and his photography work. Losing all of his tools for creating content and designs and not being able to replace them right now could possibly set him back for a year. Successfully funding his GoFundMe means getting right back to work. The goal of the fundraiser is raise enough money to get Kendrick a new camera, replacement lenses and a laptop for editing and school.

Kendrick dreaming of his next big move

The support of the community will mean so much to Kendrick. He is always helping people without asking, a selfless giver. His involvement in causes that are near to his heart have allowed him to break out of his shell and make connections with amazing people around the country.
