Help Kendra Minichello Volunteer in Dublin, Ireland

Hello! My name is Kendra Minichello, and I am starting my final semester at Ohio University. I am completing my Master of Science in Human Development and Family Science (Child Life). Each summer, the child life program offers a four-week volunteer opportunity abroad in Dublin, Ireland. This trip will allow me to learn more about the field of child life and how child life can look different in another country, as well as enhance my cultural competency skills to better provide interventions for children and families. I will also gain hands-on and structured experience in children's hospitals that is critical in securing competitive internship placements required for the national certification exam.

While in Ireland, I will have the opportunity to volunteer and work with the child life staff and pain management team at Ronald McDonald House Charities, Barretstown SeriousFun Camp's teen week (a year-round pediatric medical camp), and two pediatric hospitals. Additionally, I will be participating in several children's health service-learning projects. The estimated cost of the trip is $9,000 - travel, housing, meals, a three-credit course, and additional required fees.

I understand if you are unable to donate at this time. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and share it with others. Thank you so much for your support in this incredible, life-changing opportunity! ☘️
