TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN KEN SEARS’ CHILDREN’S LIVES
At Nationwide Infiniti of Timonium, we are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of our colleague, Ken Sears.
We are reaching out to raise funds to help Ken’s three young children navigate the challenges ahead.
On Sunday, May 26th, Ken Sears, 41, father of three tragically lost his life. While boating with family in Edgemere, Ken drowned attempting to save his life-vested son, Royce, from a strong current. When Ken reached Royce, he was overpowered by the current and unable to swim back to the boat. Ken and Royce were pulled from the water in proximity of each other by a flagged-down, good Samaritan boat. Ken received CPR and was transported to the hospital. Royce was transported to the hospital and discharged that evening.
Ken’s last act in life was that of a loving, selfless father. In death, as an organ donor, he gave the gift of sight through cornea donation.
Ken was a valued and respected shop foreman who took great pride in sharing his knowledge and expertise with his team. He is fondly remembered by his team for commending them by saying they did a good job at the end of each work day. While employed at Infiniti, Ken was taking online business administration courses in pursuit of starting his own automotive service. Hard working and driven, Ken aspired to leave a legacy of love and security for his family.
Ken was the devoted father of three young children: Royce (3), Cruz (7), and Anthony (13). Everything he did in life was for them. Growing up without a father in his life, Ken valued making his children feel important, secure and loved. He enjoyed spending time with them cooking, doing homework, reading books, taking walks, playing outside, swimming, fishing, boating, and so much more.
Wherever Ken went and whatever he was doing, his two youngest were eager to go and be “Daddy’s helpers”. Ken’s children meant everything to him and he meant everything to them.
Sadly, Ken’s young children are struggling with the loss of their hero and the emotional trauma of that tragic day. Not only have they lost their father, the children have lost their sole income provider. Although we can never erase the children’s pain, together we can make a difference in their lives.
Your heartfelt contributions will help to provide for the children’s immediate needs and those which lie ahead as well as their post secondary education. By donating, you are giving Royce, Cruz and Anthony an opportunity for a brighter future.
We are deeply appreciative for your compassion, generosity and support. God Bless.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced in the updates at a later date
