On November 26th, Yuri Botehlo, a beloved son, husband, father, and friend tragically passed while on a traditional Thanksgiving trip this year to Peru with Kelsey, their baby Tyson, and close friends James & Alexis. Yuri was full of life, deeply compassionate, and someone whose presence made people feel seen, supported, and loved. He touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue through every person who knew him.

This fundraiser was originally created to bring Kelsey and 15-month-old Tyson safely home to the United States after the tragedy and because of the generosity of so many, they made it home nearly one week later.

Now that they are home, a new reality begins. Kelsey is now a single mother navigating overwhelming grief, financial hardship, and the immense challenge of rebuilding life for her and Tyson without Yuri’s support.

As this transition unfolds, the needs remain significant, including:

• Funeral and memorial costs, as Yuri had no life insurance

• Travel and emergency expenses from Peru

• Childcare and living costs as Kelsey works to regain stability

• Counseling and support resources for Kelsey

• Future care and security for baby Tyson
