Help Keep the Nisbet Forest Clean and Healthy

Donation protected
This year’s cleanup of the beautiful Nisbet Forest near our community faced unexpected challenges. Due to ongoing forest fire conditions, much of the planned work was delayed. Thankfully, Greenland Waste generously allowed us to keep the donated bin over the summer — but unfortunately, the Prince Albert Landfill has not extended the same kindness when it comes to dumping fees.

Despite the fact that much of this garbage can be traced back to the city, Crutwell Métis Local 66 will now be responsible for paying the full landfill fees, expected to be about $600, in addition to the countless hours of volunteer time, resources, and hard sweaty labour already contributed by their members.

Here’s where you can help:
Your donation — no matter the size — will go directly toward covering these landfill costs and supporting the continued health of our beloved forest. Every dollar truly makes a difference.

Looking ahead, Crutwell Métis Local 66 also hopes to establish a small “Illegal Dumping Awareness & Reporting Fund.” Any excess funds raised will go toward this initiative and to support next year’s cleanup — a volunteer effort that has been proudly ongoing for decades.

This Year’s Cleanup Heroes
We want to recognize some incredible individuals and groups who made this year’s cleanup possible:
  • Ashley Walker and Crystal McLean from Eagles Nest Youth Outreach, along with their amazing youth team, for bringing energy, commitment, and heart to the project.
  • Crutwell Métis Local 66, especially Dave Rondeau and family, for leading and organizing the cleanup with dedication year after year.
  • Wendy and Duncan Wilson, who, despite Wendy’s serious shoulder injury and pending surgery, worked tirelessly with their grandchildren to clean up illegal dumping sites — filling over three-quarters of the bin themselves!

Their efforts have made a tremendous difference, and from all of us who cherish the forest — thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Together, we can help protect and preserve the Nisbet Forest for generations to come.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign today. Every little bit helps keep our community clean, safe, and proud.
