Help Keep the Lights On for My 7 Children
Donation protected
I'm a single mother with 6 children and I'm due with #7 in August.
The electric bill was on a monthly shut off notice prior to winter.
My husband had the bills half a year behind give or take on which bill back in January/February.
On February 3rd I had called the police and was given victims paperwork for assault. They urged me to file a PFA. The final hearing was pushed out till mid April due to scheduling conflicts with the lawyer. In March when shut off notices started again the electric company decided to wait until mid April for the PFA hearing.
In the mean time I had gotten a grant of 1k to put towards the bill which covered half of the balance at the time. I wanted to switch the bill to my name so I could apply for pcap but the electric company would not let me till my husband paid his balance. He would not pay his balance.
If I was able to get on pcap, they would give me a bill I could afford based on my income and family size. For example, a few years ago, pcap gave our family a $0 monthly payment.
We settled prior to the PFA hearing and I decided to drop the PFA so that my kids would not be alone with someone who has a history of a bad temper.
Then after that the electric company extended it longer for my daughter who had a feeding tube and feeding pump. Now the bill is over 3k and climbing fast.
I have a 10 day shut off notice demanding $1579.76 to keep the electric turned on.
I'm praying God provides a way to cover the full balance that is now over 3k and building so that I can switch the electric account to my name and apply for pcap.
Even though my husband left the bills half a year behind give or take on which bill since January/February, he has only made 1 child support payment for 1 month this year even though the year is almost halfway over. He won't help with diapers or things like that even when I beg.
Please share this story with anyone who may be able to help me reach this goal To keep the electric on for my kids.
My children are 11 months old, 2 years old, 4 years old, 7 years old, 9 years old, and 16 years old. I'm also due with a newborn in August. My 11 month old is having struggles where she recently had a feeding tube and pump which requires electricity. If she can not make progress and I lose more milk supply, she will need her feeding tube back in to stay hydrated. No one, not even specialists, can get her to take a cup well enough. Nursing is her only source of hydration. Due to the stress of everything my supply remains unstable and fluctuating.
If we lose electricity, I won't be able to house my 6, soon to be 7 children. Please help
