Help keep Steve in his home

My dear friend, trusted shade tree mechanic, story teller extraordinaire, and former neighbor Steve is in danger of becoming homeless.  With the rising rents and extremely tight housing market in Portland, Steve is now being stretched beyond the limit of what he can afford on his fixed income. 
    He is currently starting the process of attempting to obtain government housing assistance, which can be a very long and arduous ordeal. There is very limited space, and the waiting period is often longer than a year. Steve also struggles with social anxiety, which makes the process of finding housing even more difficult for him. 
  Steve has always been a very independent person, but he has reached a point in his life where he needs some help. My goal is to raise two years worth of rental assistance for him to help provide a cushion while he goes through the process of obtaining government assisted housing.
